Does anyone else "loose" tablets when they dump?

I'm on pramipexole tablets that are supposed to last 24 hours, and normally they do. But when I dump,for the rest of the day it's as if I hadn't taken them. Does anyone else have this problem, and what do you do about it? I dare not take a second one incase I'm " doubling up".

I do not know anything about pramipexole, but in general your system will probably not absorb nutrition and medication in the same way as for normal digestion systems. Things travel through a lot quicker. So ask your doctor whether you can be given pills in an alternative (liquid?) form.

You might also try putting some pills under your tongue, because that is the best place for absorbing it quickly into your system, but always ask your doctor. Dosages are calculated quite finely for some conditions, but calculations are often done on the assumption that it is taken through the mouth and absorbed through the digestive system, so this does create an additional factor that they might want to take into account.

You did not say why you have been prescribed Pramipexole --is it a single dose for restless leg or three times daily for Parkinson's ?

Also when you have dumping do you suffer diarrhea ?

I've only just discovered the replies to my question about "loosing " tablets when I dump. Apologies to Alan and Gutlesswonder. My pramipexole tablets are prolonged release, meant to last 24hrs. and normally they do, but after dumping my restless legs drive me crazy, making it impossible to rest.. And yes, I do get diarrhea after dumping, and I feel faint and dizzy, and really do need to rest.

O had eosophagogastrectomy to remove most of gullet and stomach..I was put on fentanyl patch after suffering horrific pain because of nerve damage from surgery because my meds were still untouched after i poo..they were still as complete as when i took them and sometimes i was overdosed on them building up in my stomach...def needs sorted.
