Hi; I m 31 was very healthy at one point lol

Just been told I have lpr after 6months of shortness of breathe spells randomly

Just checking I don't get heart burn just swore throats all time

I m wondering can lpr really cause breathing difficulties for some days I can't breath at all for 3/4 days it's really starting to effect me; I can't train anymore because I can't catch my breath I struggle to get through work and it's deffo causing me some anxiety coz I start worrying when I can't breathe;

Eg heart palpatating dizzy spells etc but they ease off after an hour or so; but my heart really start to race and flutter sometimes when I m shutting a valve off digging a hole etc but then other days it won't,

This is the 1st time I've ever been ill really and just unsure about it,

Just wondering if anyone else can feel like this with lpr

Ooo and I do have ashtma but it's well controlled never has an issue with that till this lpr thing

Hi Dean I have lpr and asthma I do get palpitations and heart flutters quite a bit also pains in my chest and back breathless sometimes but not too much. I have to watch everything i eat and drink take lansaprozole in the morning and gaviscon advance 30 mins after food and before bed it has helped all i was so anxious before as i felt i was choking all the time - that it made things worse so i now take sertraline which really has helped the anxiety

Hi. Have you had an endoscopy to make sure nothing else is going on? Acid can irritate the lungs and cause you to feel breathless. Are you on PPI’s like lanzaprazole as these can help with acid? Have you been referred to a Gastro for help and advice? xx

Not been reffered anywhere or had an endoscopy; just been giving them tablets,

Honestly never felt so ill

Its the breathlessness that is annoying

You need to get referred to the hospital. Firstly, I would ask for an endoscopy to see exactly what is causing all of this. You may have a hiatus hernia. I was getting a lot of breathlessness and as soon as I started taking lanzaprazol it disappeared. Reflux can make you quite ill with nausea, flu like symptoms and quite weak. Go back to your doctor and insist on having an endoscopy xx

Hi Dean iv had this now for about 2 months. The ent consultant confirmed it. Lpr is so strange, I've had clearing my throat all the time to shortness of breath all the time. My best time is at night but when I wake my throat feels dry and it tickles then the shortness of breath comes on and stays the same all day. I feel like it's getting better but they say it can take months to get better. I've had to make life style changes from watching what I eat to not eating 4 hours before bed. How are you getting on now.
