Intrusive thoughts PLAY a major role in OCD.what are intrusive thoughts? random unpleasant thoughts start to make that particular individual feel distressed leaving them to think that these thoughts represent their own inner desires.it's exactly the opposite because according TO ADAA.

The person who is suffering from unwanted thoughts has no slightest bit of desire to act upon those thoughts. we no need to examine every thought that comes to mind. thoughts are randomness ( not really important ). if you are repulsed by thought then it's not you. here doubt plays a big role in questioning your morals and ethics, questioning your inner core will not take you anywhere cause questioning is reassurance.it amplifies the intrusive thoughts.

so now we understood the root cause of intrusive thoughts what can we do about:

The ADAA offers some tips for dealing with intrusive thoughts. These include:

1)identifying the thoughts as intrusive

2)clarifying that they are involuntary and irrelevant to daily life

3)accepting their presence instead of pushing them away

4)continuing normal behavior

5)understanding that the thoughts may return

6)practicing meditation or mindfulness

.

This is very helpful. I’m a business owner always on the go and I was invaded with intrusive thoughts too and I have a the type of personality who wants to understand everything , what’s the reason behind this as I do a lot of reading in general.

So I have been analysing trying to beat it ( thinking if I question it, analyse I will get to the bottom of it ) and that doesn’t work. It just makes them stronger as I’m giving them existence.

You are completely right.

Thanks for this.
