My OCD doesn't exist in public but it's severe when I'm alone.

I have very severe OCD when I'm alone or at my parents house with my immediate family but when I'm out in public or with a friend my OCD hardly effects me at all. I can do almost everything that I can't do when I'm alone and there's no impulsive thoughts or stress. I've never heard of anyone being able to just not have OCD in public. If anyone has any comments about this or a possible answer please share.

Hi Rusty here, I am identical to you in my own home I can get so stressed with OCD and intrusive thoughts I can often get really worked up on worse case situations that aren t there. But in public I can function ok and keep a good job. I know I need medical help but am still determined to try and control myself but is so hard. Whats important is that you have friends that can support you and family that can get health leaflets on OCD so that they can understand it better, and give you the best support.
