I'm Alix and i have duchenne muscular dystrophy, i am experiencing severe OCD over my wheelchair cushion and it's taken over my life. I am never happy and it's getting my whole family down. I have an image in my head on how i want it to be but it never satisfies me. I'm scared my life is over and i'll never get better.

Hi Alix. I think you definitely need help from professionals. You must be seeing a Dr for your health conditions so make sure you mention these obsessive thoughts next time you see them. They are not as uncommon as you might think, especially amongst people who have other physical and mental problems, unfortunately :-(

There ARE medications that help, and physical and psychological therapies: it's just finding the correct mix to help alleviate the symptoms. This will take time and be frustrating but you must keep talking to anyone and everyone about this, don't try to hide it or be embarrassed. It's important those that can help you know the details.

You've take a big step by posting on here btw.

Take care & good luck!
