Wrist Pain
Hello
I have OA confirmed in a few joints and the last month or so I have had pain in my wrist, I have been lightly foam rolling my forearms every other day and it seems to be helping...
For my arthritis in general I take turmeric and black pepper capsules every day and it helps with the discomfort and pain.
I hope this helps.
Try heating pad and keep moving your hand maybe use a stress ball or quality CBD cream. I have a shoulder that suddenly decided to kill me with arthritis about a year ago and I fought that pain because its so easy to let the pain dictate everything … I keep moving it.
Hi,First, allow me to say your pain will come and go with periods of extreme discomfort causing a grown man to cry like a baby. Allowing the daily regular numb pain to seem a bit more manageable.
I found everyone has different pain thresholds to different types of pain and can only offer some personal advice that works for me if I had a bit more details of you diagnosis. It had taken me 2 different doctors and 3 months to say " I have bilateral stage 3 CMC OA ". This of course only identifies my hands and my inability to say, get a credit card out of my wallet or open a bottle or turn a key or use utensils properly.
Mine was sudden and i still have a hard time with people giving strange looks when I have a challenging situation and I can't do something quickly or have to do it differently.
Forgive my transgressions, so I would start with knowing exactly your diagnosis of your wrists or hands and from there gain all different kinds of advice, mixed with your own experience to manage your pain .
Good luck and please keep us posted on your progress or just message me to just chat stupid stuff that comes up with this arthritis. There isn't a perfect guide book for the journey.
Hi. I have arthritis in both wrists and the bases of both thumbs. I use the gel from the doctor, but a kind person on here recommended Dynamint which is made from all natural ingredients and comes in several different forms. I order mine online from Holland and Barrett. Because it's natural you can apply it as often you need to. I also have to take codeine when the pain is at its worst - I can't tolerate anti- inflammatory meds. These things help in between my primary treatment - I have steroid injections about two or three times a year and they normally take away all the pain for about four to six months at a time, so I only need the other things when the injections run out. Best wishes. 🌼
Hi I received my Dynamint it helps but my lower back is flaring up at the moment and I get in extreme pain. My gp as taken me off Tramadol so all I am left with is Zapain and creams like Fenbid. Which does nothing much for my pain in my back. I try water bottles and heat wraps but it still continues with pain. I wonder if I should try and get a steroid injection in my back it gets worse in colder weather! Many thx for your help.
Hey has doc suggested that it could be carpal tunnel? if not go back and suggest that to them and see if it may be that in the mean time maybe take anti-inflammatory tabs like ibuprofen 400mg and maybe try heat packs too xx
Hi GuitarAngel.
Sorry to hear of your constant pain.
The biggest thing for me after injury 43years ago was accepting that I would never go back to the way I was, very fit and strong. -It took me decades. But accepting you're never going to be the same again doesn't mean giving up and not finding things to alleviate the pain and other consequences.
I've had 43years of pain from muscle/ligament damage, and osteoarthritis with broken bone-bits in recent years.
Nothing worked: voltaren (a nsaid which did work but ruined my gut & affected my heart), panadeine forte (took one in the 90s which took the edge of my pain for 30mins then came back worse). Nor did drs, physios, chiros, pain management help -none of them helped. In recent years I've had broken bone bits from osteoarthritis and cracking neck bones.
What works for me: when injured area is cold/hurting, apply heat; when injured area is hot, apply ice/constriction; taking 750 glucosamine HCL (hydrochloride NOT sulfate) with 250mg shark chondroiton twice daily with food for the osteo, and swimming in a heated pool (or simply immersing body for 30 minutes if not up to moving/swimming) for pain and exercise and relaxation.
It may not be for you, GuitarAngel but if your pain continues and you've tried everything else, you may consider these long-term methods. As always, check with your dr before changing your health regimen.
