Gabapentin Side Effects

I was put on gabapentin by my therapist about three weeks ago, 300 mg 3 times daily. It has done a pretty good job taking away my anxiety, but I experience extreme bloating and unsteadiness on my feet, also some blurring of vision and fast weight gain. I don’t know if this will go away with time or not. If not I will have to make a decision about whether to continue taking this drug.

Weight gain is a common side effect of most antiepileptic medications on the market, somenworse then others unfortunately.

Side effects vary for this epileptic medication but yours isnt uncommon but if it stops or not is unknown and depends on your body tolerance to the drug.

I tried it and ended up a virtual vegitable and that was only on 100mg once a day, I wouldn't tolerate it. Only positive from it was it actually helped my stress incontinence, but did nothing for helping my pain levels at all.

My husband was the same on it, they tried him on it instead of his dilantin, it controlled his seizures vert well (no break throughs) but it made him a drooling being that couldnt function. So back to his dilantin and the hunt for a metter medication to help control his epilepsy.
