Anyone gone through this?

I was on Zapain but found I was getting an allergic reaction of wheezing and coughing, also I had to stop because of an under active Thyroid resulting in severe pain in my back and hip, the cough and wheezing went away so I contacted my Dr. The Dr has prescribed Naproxen and Lansoprazole but I find I can't lay down due to the pain so can't sleep, I have to sleep sitting up and really can't walk far. Has anyone else here gone through this and is there a remedy or is this my level of life now?

Hi there and welcome to the community:)

I'm sorry you've had to wait so long for a reply, for some reason, this post slipped under my radar.

I "really" want to jump straight to the back pain and/or being able to lay down, but firstly, I'd like to ask about the Lansoprazole.

Sorry, but I have to ask this, "Have you left out any details? I mean apart from the cough, have you reported to your doctor about any stomach complaints?".

Lansoprazole is normally prescribed for stomach problems like continual or chronic heartburn, gall stones, indigestion and such like .. but can also be prescribed for persistent coughs. Did your cough improve once you stopped the Zapain?

Ok, now for something a little more serious!

Your inability to lay down.

This has definitely peaked my interest! Primarily because if you have what I think you do, you're the only person I've managed to find in over five years who has the same problem I do... but please take heart in knowing that while the remedies could be a vast multitude of pills and potions till the doctor confirms what's going on, it can be eased relatively quickly.

(Note: not cured - but ease the pain, allowing you a peaceful sleep in a bed.)

I have a mass of questions for you, but as its now 02:39hrs, I'll post the questions after some sleep.

In the meantime, would you mind telling me more about where the pain is when you try to lay down?

After laying down, how long is it before the pain becomes unbearable? Do you find it difficult to get back up from a laying down position? Does trying to get up cause more pain?

Have you had spinal x-rays at all?

And before I ask even more, are you in the UK or another country?

Have faith, I think I can help you :)

kohai.

Have you tried Kelp supplement? Look at WDDTY and search Thyroid. Could be something useful.
