Hello,

I’m looking ways to lessen my pain. I have kidney disease and am unable to take the arthritis drugs. Any suggestions? I try to keep moving but sometimes very hard. I want to know what works for you? Anyone else with kidney disease? I look forward to your comments.

I also have kidney disease. I take Tylenol in the a.m. and at night, before bed. Helps some.

Hi Mugga1 and welcome to the group. Way to keep moving! Even though we know that physical activity is so important for many health reasons, it is hard to keep moving when you are in pain. Here is a blog post from the Arthritis Foundation that shares some good physical activity tips for people with osteoarthritis:

There may even be an arthritis-specific exercise program in your area- resourcefinder.arthritis.org/

Hello Mugga1, taking the medication when the pain is at its peak or when it becomes intolerable, takes that much longer for the medication to take effect. By taking prescribed or doctor approved medication on a regular schedule, can help cut the pain down considerably. Just remember to consult you physician with any regime you are planning so he/she can guide you in the best direction for you particular situation.

I take turmeric and black pepper capsules for my osteoarthritis pain and it works wonders. You need to check with you doctor to see if it is safe for you because of your kidneys.
