Hello to you, how are you as you are reading this? Take a breath, take a moment. You are alive. That in itself is magical.

So in my 8 years of practise as a nutritional therapist, I have come to know through my own experimenting and through working so intimately with other humans on their own unique path, that small changes, make powerful differences. I have no wish for a narrow approach to nutrition, as this displaces the innate synergy in food and the social enjoyment we get for cooking for those we love and then sitting down to share in that bounty. Eat food that gives you vitality, rather than depletes it. Let go of fixations. Enjoy cooking and creating in your kitchen. all of that is potent medicine. Tune in to your unique needs.

Ground flax seeds or linseeds as they are often known are rich in fibre and in essential fatty acids, making them a great addition to help regulate hormones., particularly female reproductive hormones. Include a tablespoon a day for a period of time. Again, this doesn't mean from now until forever you eat a tablespoon of flax seeds, but they could become part of your routine. Recently I have been adding various seeds to my morning oats along with plentiful berries. I find my own menstrual cycle to be much better since I began to take better care of myself (fortunate to not have had major issues with that anyway) when I eat well, move well, breathe well and acknowledge my emotional state. Therefore nutrition is not just about what you are eating. It is taking your unique constitution into consideration, your culture, your body type, how you feel about your body, what messages you got growing up in regards to food and its link to health. This is why a linear diet approach does not work.

The word diet stems from the Greek dieta - meaning way of life. Remember you are nourished by your way of life - not by faddish 'diets'. Don't be fooled by claims - trust your inner voice more and get to know yourself so you can understand your patterns. Discern, explore and feel.
