Your nutrition influences metabolic waste output. What is best limited to enhance kidney health? Let’s talk sugars/fast carbs 1st: boiled/gummy sweets; concentrated fruit juice; ultra processed foods e.g shop cakes/pastries/some breads; fizzy pop; commercial ice-cream/lollies.

And you know its not just kidneys that get impact however given diabetes and hypertension are the top causes of kidney disease, it is critical that sugars are closely looked at in your regular day to day habits. Too much sugar of course leads to a prediabetic stage and high blood pressure will also go hand in hand as with more sugars in the blood, the kidneys and vascular system are under more strain. This doesn't mean no sugar, remember, it's all about balance.

Start by reviewing just how much sugars you are having. This includes large portions of white carbs e.g bread, pasta, rice. Instead load up on veggies and reduce the fast carb portion. Doesn't mean no carbs, as ever...yes you guessed it... it's all about balance.

Please remember too that sugar is highly addictive so be kind to yourself in starting to wean yourself off it, especially if intake has been excessive for many years. It's more addictive than cocaine and so the dopamine receptors in your brain will need a chance to adjust. It will hugely impact your overall health so make a change today.

Start somewhere - maybe ease off the sugar in your tea and coffee for example.

I know it's tough. I'm here to help you so let me know your pain points as they arise.
