Could you ever do the splits? Want to see where you are now with that or even just explore from scratch?

Check out my new video on Hanumanasana - more widely known as splits pose. Hanuman was the mythical monkey god who as legend has it, flew over the mountains in a giant leap - aka in the splits!

What are you ready to leap into? Take a risk? Fly high!

Please be warmed up before attempting to avoid muscle injury:

Thanks Grace for pointing that out. I've corrected it as that is indeed what I meant. It spell checked it to alarmed and I didn't spot it! Hope you find the sound improved. I've been using a Blue Yeti microphone so it's not so tinny.

yes the sound is great. you have a lovely clear voice. I did watch the video i always watch them and sometimes i try them a few times. The thing is im not sure how to know when i would be going into my hip flexors. also i cant lay my foot out like you with the sole facing the ceiling and let it lay flat, i used to be able to do that i have lost so much mobility as i can sit back on my heels from kneeling now as the pain in my knee's and thighs is unbearable and wont let me. i cant also crouch down now like you would if you were talking to a child. i twistsed my knee a few years ago and its ever since then. i used to be so mobile. im still flexible that i can touch my toes with ease.I still exercise and do some pilates. i used to go to a studio. im going to the muso skelatal clinic about my pains i also have sciatica and have to be careful i dont stretch to much. just little and often. i do enjoy your videos and also thought it was marvellous that you were going into doctors places and doing classes. i saw that video a while ago. Its always good to give isnt it. im always grateful when i can give something, I did teach belly dancing for a while at a residential center for woman who were trying to get of drugs. i really enjoyed it and so did they. love grace xoxo

Hi Grace. It's brilliant you are doing the videos. Always just honour where your body is and visualise the flexibility you wish for yourself. With knee issues it's super important never to push into any sharpness which you know. For the foot placement, see if raising your seat on cushions under the opposite buttock helps. And there's no need to turn the foot if it's not ready. The hip opener video will also help. When I was rehabilitating my knees I found strengthening the leg muscles through hill walking very helpful alongside hip opener poses. A teaspoon of turmeric daily will also help reduce systemic inflammation. CBD oil is helpful for neuropathic pain. There is much to help yourself. Keep exploring and don't give up. What your mind tells your body is so key. Perhaps look into some other form of volunteering if it makes your heart sing. Giving back is important but self care is the most important of all!! Ciara xxx
