Hot water and lemon in the morning. Zing!

A refreshing way to start the day is a mug of hot water (allowing it to cool from a boiled kettle) with freshly squeezed lemon. I use about a quarter of a lemon and squeeze it into the water. This is a great way to hydrate the body after sleeping and to give the liver and bowels a bit of a zing! Give it a try! You can jazz it up with fresh slices of ginger and/or turmeric root both of which have properties to calm inflammation.
