Yes it happened to me when I reached 17.5mg. After a while I was switched to injectable at 15mg and this was fine no nausea. Now had a month off to sort out other stuff and its made me realise how effective MTX is by injection. Tilda

Thank you.

Does your partner have folic acid on only one day? I was told to take it every day except on MTX day and that helped.

Also, drinking water regularly after taking meds helps them move through the body easily so they don't build up.

I was fine on MTX for ages and then the nausea started. It takes some getting used to for some people, but worth persevering. Injections don't upset the stomach as much as tablets. I almost look forward to it now, as it has a real impact on my inflammation.

Thanks. He takes folic acid everyday except on the day of his injection of MTX. He has been on it for 18 months now but nausea doesnt seem to be clearing.

I was put onto injectable MTX. Much better no nausea. Maybe he could speak to rhummy nurse to see if he can change.

When I was on Methotrexate I took Domperidone three times a day before meals, which stopped the nausea. Hope that it works if you try it! Good luck.
