Hi Syliv knee supports, ankles. arthritic gloves. etc ............... Think thats it. Mind memory going a bit. There no hope !!!!!!!!!!!! xx

well this isnt about me but about my kind funny chap.... he has take of his one ear.. yes you heard right he is the most beuatiful person inside and so funny, he was born without an ear one side xx

I am one of the lucky ones only have to take my glasses off before I shower, trouble is am blind as a bat without them. I have to make sure I place the stool in the correct place, along in order shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, otherwise I could shampoo hair in shower gel, which I have done in the past.

I'm same as Georje - ended up squirting lavish amounts of son's spot gel into my hair a month ago because I only identified the last word out of "skin cleansing shampoo". My hair was really dry for most of the week as a result. It's mad having to clamber back out of the shower just to read what's on the various bottles though and my youngest son has a hair fetish I think - he buys more different types of shampoo and conditioners than I've had hot dinners so I can no longer just identify it from the shape and colour of the bottle!

Bath time? I used to love my baths, but now it's hard to get in and out of it so it's quite rare that I do. Most of the time I have to make do with a shower. And right now I'm wearing a scarf to bed as the bedroom is draughty and it's cold and my neck freezes up - so that has to come off before I clamber into shower. Polly

Have you heard of the "Limbo" ?- Google it - you can pull it on over all sorts of dressings and safely take a shower. I had my feet in plaster and still had the luxury of a shower.....Good Luck Kathy

What great mental images we can leave for other people! We should bottle the collective sense of humour and sell it.

Hi everyone I enjoyed reading your shower and bath stories. Normally I shower cause once I sit down I cant get out. I have found that if I wear rubber gloves and flip flops I can normally manage to get out as long as I dont have too many attempts. If I do then I get too tired and cant manage it. So as I say its normally a shower for me using my step stool thing that my physio got me but at least I dont need the rubber gloves lol.

Aren't we a diverse group! I have no choice, it has to be a shower, as my bathroom was totally remodelled while I was in rehab hospital6 yrs ago, following spine surgery. I could not step over the top of a tub, so we put in a lovely handicap accessible shower with built in seat, grab bars strategically placed, hand held shower tubing, which can be hung up, but I'm too short for it to hit me :) Also there is a heater in the ceiling, along with a light and an exhaust fan, it's like a lovely sauna in there. I have no sense of balance , due to loss of vestibular function in inner ear, from nerves having been destroyed by toxic dose of the antibiotic Gentamycin. But I choose to stand in the shower, just always hanging on to one of the grab bars. I am permanetly dizzy, so I make it my challange :) However, it is exhausting, and usually by the time I get dry enough from the heater fan to wrap up in my robe, I have to go rest! That's life in northern USA :)

Thanks sweet Sylvie :) Hugs back at ya! I am very excited tonight, haven't slept yet. Just watched the entire National Championship Basketball game. Kentucky beat Michigan. But my excitement is because my dear sweet Serena, oldest Grandaughter, is in labor, about to give birth to my first Great Grandaughter! I hate being 3 hours away and unable to drive to see her and be with all the other rejoicing and welcoming family. Actually, it's just Mommy, Daddy and Grandma. But Greatgrandma would be there if she could. They are going to call me, text me and send pictures soon after she arrives. I was there for my Grandaughter's birth, and she was the most beautiful new babygirl. So, we have expectations for this one. Hugs, and stay out of trouble, please !
