Hi There, has anyone experienced flare ups on the face, my jaw and neck area was very sore all night and restricted my jaw movement thankfully it is easing off now, This is the first time i have experienced this just checking it's part of the RA package
Is this a flare up on my face.: Hi There, has anyone... - NRAS
Is this a flare up on my face.
Yes I have this too. Sat here now with my heatpad wrapped round my neck. Got up one morning feeling like I'd gone 3 rounds with Mike Tyson lol. New one on me. Had RA for over 4yrs and first time I've had a sore jaw.
Lol. Oh wine, such a distant memory now lol
Hi - I have had this as well - once after having some dental work done and another time, singing an 8 minute song through three times running - lots of open mouthed 'ahhs'!!
I felt silly mentioning this pain to my Rheumy when I was first referred, but she took it in her stride simply saying "its a joint and RA can affect any joint." My jaw can lock so badly sometimes that I cant open my mouth enough to talk properly and have to revert to soup via a straw. I find that I have to take ibuprofen on top of other meds when this happens in order to bring some amount of relief.
Hi yep me too .... My jaw didn't lock but was very sore and clicky on the hinge bit (you know what I mean) ...it only lasted a couple of weeks and literally goes as quick as it starts . Just another of the lovely suprises that naughty RA throws at us ...Don't worry it will go C x
I get jaw trouble too, and they sound a bit crunchy too, also I get throat pain and eye pain. Luckily the jaw pain is the sort thast doesn't go on and on, it tends to only last a few days at most. xx
