will try the post dinner walk tonight!
can I also add? (i will anyway!) drink as much water as you can (really helps on mtx day)
Thanks Wiliby for adding a very important part of day activity. I just missed it. so, hows your experience with post dinner walk?
Well, OK> I can begin the day with arm exercises, if I can start right ofter the second cup of coffee!
I often sing in the shower. Seems the tone is just right for an alto voice. Especially singing songs from "Oklahoma" or "The King and I" or in season, all the Christmas hymns. Also a bit of country, like Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline. Oh Yeah!
I can't get out to see friends once a week, but sure do talk to them on the phone for hours a week!
I just danced this afternoon to Neil Dyamond's Concert CD, oh now he can lift anybody's spirits! Just have to hang onto the handlebars of the walker!
Sure can't go walking after supper.
Best time ti visit on the computer is before I get in bed. Sometimes I stay here way too late. Like, it is now 12:18 am.
Guess I do OK for the shape I'm in.
does anybody know of an instrument, or piece of kitchen equipment that would take the place of a wretched wrist and hand that needs to be able to slice and dice and chop celery and apples and walnuts to make Waldorf Salad? What I'd like is maybe an electric knife that could do that on hard, firm veggies and fruits, and still leave the pieces uniform and not smushed like in a food processer. Any inventors out there, we need such a thing!
However, I did it myself! Pared and diced slices from 12 large Honey Crisp apples, 4 ribs of celery, halved a bunch of seedless grapes and chopped walnuts. My wrist is so sore, it's more swollen, so I put ice on it earlier, have just rubbed in the anti-inflammatory Voltaren gel, and put the splint on for the night. Hurts like it got stomped on by a herd of wild buffalo as they passed down Highland Avenue
Seriously, I have dwelled on the topic: perthaps it's time to pass this tradition onto the next generation, like one of my 3 daughters-in-law. But I don't want to give up these things my family looks forward to me making! I do love doing it. Would break my heart if sons told me I can't do this any more!
So how do you gals cope? How much self-worth can you loose and still maintain your identity? Oh gosh, I'm sorry, now I am getting TOO serious! Hope everyone is feeling a little better,-not healed Sylvia,- just better than yesterday XX Loret
Sorry, That was way too long, probably boring. Just vented on and on cheers anyways. Loret
