Are you talking about the Specialist Rhumey Hospital or RUH? Either of these my mum has received good treatment from, although she has osteo arthritis and not r.a.

Sorry i tend to write as i speak.I have been in agony since christmas but im being told my bloods are normal.I rang and spoke to one of the hospital nurses about this hospital in bath and was told i had to be referred by my rheumatologist and the cost would come out of his budget.
Is it the hospital for rheumatic diseases? My mother went there many years ago and hsd incredible care. They even used the spa waters. I think they have a long specialised knowledge but have no idea how they are now. Id be interested to hear your experiences
It is the hospital for rheumatic diseases but i can only attend there if i have a referral from a rheumatologist.
I used to go to the hospital for rheumatic diseases in Bath when I lived in Somerset. I think it was the best hospital I have ever been to (and I've moved around a lot!). they were so orientated towards making the patient central to everything they did. I tried out lots of different ways of managing the RA (no biologics then) including many "alternative" treatments.
Mind you, this was quite a few years ago now, so it may have changed under the pressures of cuts and cuts and more cuts.
Ithink if i pay privately i would be able to go there
