Hi. I have one on the back of my knee and have had it for several months. I have RA and was also told that it is common. I went to see my rheumy and he drained the front of my knee as there was swelling there and injected it with steroid which he said is usually very successful in reducing the pain and swelling of the cyst. Unfortunately, and I quote, my "RA is very stubborn" so it didn't help. I'm due to go back in a few weeks and will probably have to have the actual cyst drained via a scan as this is the only way they can do it.

Just to let you know that when I first went to the GP about it they told me that it would probably go away on it's own but mine got more and more painful so I'd say try and get it treated asap to stop it getting any worse.

I hope this helps and good luck!

I've previously had a couple of Bakers Cysts at the back of my knee, but before I was diagnosed with RA. My doctor said it would probably go without any treatment but to go back if it didn't - it did...

I hope that helps.

I had one a while back and had it drained. While it was very uncomfortable getting it done.............the relief afterwards more than made up for it.

Def go back to docs and ask him to make an appointment with your rumy.

Hi I had one and confirm that it will go in time. I had it a number of times, once I had it drained and injected and it helped. Hope this helps.
