Isn’t funny how some weeks are lovely and quiet and some are completely manic! Well it seems that for me at the moment, every week is full of things I have to do and there are not enough hours in the day! However, I hate having nothing to do so it’s lucky that...

• I’ve just finished doing a week long run of the musical Copacabana. Singing is one of my favourite things and I love the feeling of forgetting everything and just thinking about what notes go in what order!

• I’ve just moved into my own house and I’m spending my time mastering flat pack furniture, gardening, decorating and ticking off things from a never ending list of jobs (though not sure this will ever not be the case!)

• It was World Arthritis Day last Friday– hope you’ve all signed up to our responsibility deal pledge! Here’s the link in case you missed it: nras.org.uk/campaign/our_la...

• To tie in with World Arthritis Day, we held our first Members’ day last Thursday at Taplow Court . Nearly 100 people attended, including NRAS Members and their guests, our amazing key speaker Professor Peter Taylor, NRAS staff and our expert panel of local health professionals. Some of the photos from the day will be on the NRAS website soon. Better start planning the next one...

• Did you know it’s National Knitting week? NRAS have just launched the Knit factor campaign, a way of raising funds for NRAS that doesn’t involve jumping out of planes, marathon running or trekking up mountains! So I will be spending this weekend refreshing my knitting skills, or lack of them :o) I remember making a knitted penguin when I was younger but I think it took me over a year to finish it! Find out more about our Knit factor campaign on our website nras.org.uk/support_us/get_...

• And tomorrow, it’s PANTO time! “oh no it isn’t” I hear you cry! The marvellous Clare Jacklin (whose day job is NRAS Director of External Affairs) has created a 25 minute Panto which will be performed alongside two other pantomimes on stage in Maidenhead tomorrow night. The audience will then vote for the winner, who gets £250 for the charity of their choice. Obviously, as the cast is made up of NRAS staff and family members, we hope to raise some money for NRAS as well as entertaining the good people of Maidenhead. Oh, and I’m playing Prince Charming (oh yes I am!) - look out for the photos coming soon!

Hope your weekends aren’t quite as busy – but just as fun :o)

Best wishes,

Emma x
