Baker's Cyst.

Hi all! I have been suffering with a Baker's Cyst for the last few months and finally went to see my Consultant on Monday who didn't drain the cyst (needs to be done via scan) but drained other fluid from my knee and injected it with cortisone. He said that this should help but if it doesn't then I'd probably need to go back and get the cyst drained. Has anybody had experience of having this done and should it be feeling better by now as it's not 4 days on?! I'm so fed up of this flippin illness, why can't they find a cure to stop all the pain and misery. Bad day today :-(

Hi, I don't actually have any experience of these cysts, but I'm sure that over the past year or so I remember seeing quite a few questions regarding this problem, so have a look through questions and you might have some luck in finding the answer.

All the best

Carolyn

If you go to the search box and put in Bakers Cyst it will give you some answers.

I have had Baker cysts. They are caused from inflammation, which is obviously a problem with RA. Mine actually ruptured. It was very painful. Eventually the fluids were absorbed, but because I have constant inflammation in my knee and the cysts keep coming back. I found that the pain has lessened a little, but I might just be getting used to it. I hope that your pain goes away. Good luck!
