Hello and welcome! Do not feel guilty, many of who write on here are mums so we know how you feel and are in the same boat albeit at different stages. Take care. x

Hi and welcome to the site, I'm sure you'll find the support here a real help. It's lovely to hear you have such a loving and helpful husband as looking at your profile it sounds like you've had a tough few years. You don't say if you're on any treatment yet for your ra but once you're on medication your condition should improve and you'll be better able to do the things for your family that you want to. You have no need to feel guilty, we've all been in the same boat at one time or another. I just want to say what a beautiful profile pic :-) Good luck with your treatment and I hope to hear more from you.

Hi

I, like you have a very supportive husband. You know I think he is a real brick - I wouldn't want to live with me, especially just now!! I must be a nightmare..

As for being a mum - my children (grown up) are the ones who also worry about me - they are 28, 30 and 32 and I have 6 grandchildren, how lucky am I. The good thing is they support and understand, and I think that is about each of as individuals being honest about our conditions. Most recently diagnosed with GCA along with the RA PMR and fibromyalgia, have had RA for 12/13 years. Had the RA when I met my hubby so from day 1 he has been aware and daily seen the good and bad times with me. At one time I would deny the problems - but now I am 100% honest and if I feel rubbish I tell him.

The only thing I do have a bug bear about and that he tries to do too much... I do get frustrated, and I need to maybe allow him to do just a lttle more, but my independence is hugely important to me. I want to be 'normal' whatever that might be...

Lucky me is all I can say - thank you to all my family, from my 4 year old granddaughter (Aggy-Su - through to 10 year old Louie, not forgetting Arwen (9), Arthur(7), Abe(6) and Finlay(nearly 6) to my 85 year old dad who has kept me supplied with tons of fresh runner beans!!!.. And the sun has been shining..

Hazel i know what you mean about your hubby doing too much. My hubby has now retired and he wonders how he got things done before he retired. I always thought that i would be the one looking after him as he is 12yrs older than me,funny isn't it how things turn out. Sylvi.xx

Welcome to the site,i like you have a brilliant man caring for me. I have a daughter and a son,my son at the moment is working on the cruise ships in the carribean and he won't be home until december. My daughter still live at home and her and my hubby are always saying "go and sit down mum" i know they are worried and care for me but there are times when it annoys me,but i can't complain can i.

You will find lot of support here and please feel free to have a moan when you need too.

welcome and i hope ypou have a good day.xx

Thanks for your comments Sylvi. My hubby is 10 years younger than me, and I guess at times I have this bit of me that wants/needs to make sure that the difference is not obvious.. I know that's just in my head, but..

Today is quite nice - hubby working so able to potter at my leisure and do those 'just jobs' - my sister has text to say she is popping around for a cuppa later and daughter/partner and 2 of my grandsons are dropping in too. Plus my son (who also still lives at home, even though he is 28), stayed with friends last night so won't be back till later. I do like ME time - just now and again time for myself, where I don't have to talk, unless I have one of those deep and meaningfull conversations with my cats (Lexi and Gollie), can mooch in my pj's and drink tea till it comes out of my ears, it's great.

Busy day tomorrow as off for first of scans CT, just waiting on date for MRI.

Have a good day Sylvi and any one else who reads this.
