Hi - I believe you're entitled to ask for a second opinion so tell your GP you'd like one and explain that you think it might be sero negative RA (negative blood results) or some other type of inflammatory arthritis. As most people using this site have RA and you have some other symptoms you may find you get much broader advice from a site such as Arthritis Care - Living With Arthritis forum where many people who have many different forms of arthritis go for advise and support. I went there when I was still undiagnosed and found lots and lots of people in similar situations and it was really helpful.
Don't let your GP fob you off though - this is your chance to tell them how it really is and how much distress it's been causing you. Be firm and push hard to get some answers. Good luck. Tilda x
HI MINKA JUST A THOUGHT ABOUT A 2ND OPION IS THERE ANOTHER GP IN YOUR GPs SURGERY YOU COULD SEE AS SOMETIMES IT HELPS AS YOUR OWN GP HAS ALL YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY ON A DATA BASE SO ANOTHER GP MAY COME UP WITH SOME HELP FOR YOU MOST SURGERYS HAVE ABOUT 6 GPs SHARING THE PRACTICE AND YOU CAN NORMALLY SEE ANY OF THOSE GPs JUST A THOUGHT, NORMALLY IF YOU HAVE FLUID ON YOUR KNEE AND YOU ARE IN A LOT OF PAIN, THEY CAN DRAIN THE FLUID OUT AND SEND IT TO THE LAB TO SEE IF YOU HAVE INFLAMATION , BY DRAWING FLUID OF YOUR KNEE COULD ALSO GIVE YOU SOME PAIN RELEIF, GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR GP
