It will take a few weeks to get it all the way through the system. The shortness of breath is something you need to mention on your next appt, love sylvi.xxx
I had extreme shortness of breath when on MTX which resulted in pneumonitis, a known side effect of taking MTX. I would advise you to get in touch with your rheumy team for reassurance.

Hi Kath, I had the same problem when i went from tabs. to injects. so best to ring your rheummy team and let them know and they should send you for a lung X-RAY. I had a scan as well and was told to come off MTX until these were done, hopefully they did a lung X-RAY before they put you on MTX.
Hope you get it sorted soon, take care.

Hi kathgallagher
As the others have said it would definately be worth mentioning this to your rheumatology team as soon as possible. If you are unable to get hold of them perhaps speak to your GP.
These drugs can take some time to work, so it may take up to 12 weeks to really feel the benefit from the switch to injectable MTX, but you should always inform your team of any new symptoms or side effects.
Kind regards
Sarah Kate
