I can't see anyone's answers!! :-(

Hi Sarahg, I am on Enbrel & I just had my first Tattoo. I have had no promblems at all. I am going to get one more on the inside of my left leg. soon.

Hope all goes well for you. Also you can buy from the chemist pain patchers, you put it on the spot where you are going to have the tattoo, about one hour before the tattoo, & it numbs the spot.

Good Luck

Hello Sarah

Before you go down this route I would seriously suggest you check with your rheumatology dept because whilst you are on biologics, anything which can potentially lead to infection needs to be considered very carefully. I remember a lad being sent away from the Infliximab clinic because he had just had a peircing and they told him the risk of giving him the infusion at that point would be too great. Personally, when on biologics, or any kind of immune suppressant meds, I would avoid anything with the potential for infection because my feeling is that it is just not worth the risk.

Hi there, I was in your position some years ago after starting Humira.

I had a large back/shoulder; brest bone; arm tattoo...

The only advice I could give is wait til your settled into the new drug and feeling well.

Choose your tattoo artist well and take it easy, dont rush to finish it in one hit.

Mine took about one year of monthly 2hour sessions but still not finished.

Also discuss with your care providers and if you decide to go ahead the foot will hurt especially over bone areas. Folliw the care instructions from thr tattooist. And After Use Bepanthen (kids nappy rash cream) which protects the wound from mild infection but allows the wound to breath. And always wash, dry and use Bepanthen Every night.

All the best... Farjer

Hi sarahg . I have been taking enbrel for 18 months and in that time have had a half sleeve done without problems. Just follow the normal procedures regarding cleanliness of the tatt site as with any wound. I have 7 tattoos some which I had before taking any RA medicines and some after - I didnt notice any difference in healing times. I always use Savlon ! All the best ! :)

Any opinion on the effectiveness of remicade vs. enbrel or humira?

My doctor wants me to consider adding a biological to my treatment. I want to hear your experience.
