just joined the NRAS community, found the site through quit support. Yes that should give you a clue :- quit smoking four and half months ago and the community site has helped me through.

I have not been diagnosed with RA yet as the doc wants some x rays and another blood test. This started about 2 months ago with Oedema and plantar fascitus in my feet, gradually I am getting more pain in my ankles and knees. My heel pain hasnt improved and off to podiatrist again in 3 weeks.

I just thought I would browse this site and glean any information that might be useful. Will probably be chatting with you all soon.

Lovely to meet you all. :)

Good morning jillygirl,

Welcome to the club, it is great to know there are people out there who understand how you are feeling without judgement just love & concern plus often good advice. I hope you find that so.

Well done about giving up smoking I understand how hard that can be although I do not smoke my son& daughter do. Both are attempting to quit.

Hope your day does well. Love Alison x

Dear Jillygirl

Welcome to the site and well done on quitting smoking, which is a great achievement. If you do get diagnosed with RA this will really help, as smoking can make the RA symptoms worse.

I hope you find the site useful and get lots of support on here. You can also find a lot of information about various aspects of RA on the NRAS website, and are welcome to make use of the NRAS helpline if it would be useful to you. You can call the helpline Mon-Fri from 9.30-4.30 on 0800 298 7650. You can also email us: helpline@nras.org.uk.

Kind regards

Victoria
