HI Anthony, I have not tried it yet ,but I am beginning to experiment with diet and would be interested to know which one you are referring to?. I have RA and I am sure diet has an effect good and bad. Right now I am eating mainly fruit and veg with oily fish , and would consider a vegan diet in the future. I look forward to your future post,s .
Hello,
I have found any food high in saturates will cause inflammation along with beetroot, cherries and strawberries! ready meals are a no no, doesn't matter what it is they will make me feel yuck.
I'm on the same meds as yourself and thankfully doing very well, because of the mtx being as toxic as it is, the day before I take it and for a day after I watch whatever I eat is as natural as I can find, low in saturates and little salt as possible, tons of water; feel as if my body copes with it better then and I rarely flare this way.
I did buy a book about ant inflammatory diet but found it hard to follow, just making it up as I go along now!
Hi all
Certainly the research shows that with diet and RA it's very individual, so while some are lucky and are not affected by what they eat, others may find that certain foods make their pain worse. What these foods are will vary between individuals, so it's generally recommended to keep a diary of what you eat and how you feel for a while, although some people approach this the other way round, with an exclusion diet, where they start with a very basic diet and slowly introduce foods to see if they cause problems.
Acidic foods, including some fruits seem to come up a lot for people, and red meat as well, but the main thing is to have a healthy, balanced diet.
I wasn't aware of this specific diet, so had a look online and it certainly seems to have elements in common with the mediterranean diet, which there have been studies to support. This diet is mentioned in a couple of our articles:

Hope these links will be of use to people.
