Humira does not appear to be doing anything

Rheumy wants me to start Leflunomide...does anyone else use this and what do you think of it...???

Does it have another name also? Have heard of it . I was on Humira to and it did nothing I am now on Tocilimab (TCZ) but found enbrel or etanercept worked best for me.

I am on the new anti TNF tocilimab or TCZ, celebrez antin inflamatory, a netrve blocker (forgot the name of that one though!) amitryptline to help me sleep and I have been on prednisolone for over 15 years on 10mg daily. Iam new to TCZ but unfortunately my RA specialist says I am a difficult case to treat as I am negative for Rheumatoid factor and have not responded to a lot of the drugs. Everyone is different though and there is some great meds out there unfortunately its just a bit of trial and error to get the right one for you. Good luck. x

Sorry you had no luck with Humira. Lef is likely to be my next option. A DMARD, works best with a low dose of MTX. People who respond to it say it's fine. Polly

I was on MTX and had side effects, same with Sulphasalizine...so been on Humira since Dec.2011, and now wants to add in Leflunomide...so probably start that on Monday...haven't found anything that works yet apart from Prednisolone but been of that for 6 months now....I end up needing a steroid injection every 3-4 months to get me on even keel and back to work...

I was on mtx and always felt terrible the day after - sickness and fatigue (worse than normal RA) so rheummy changed me to 20mg lefluomide daily. I get the same relief as with the mtx without the side effects. I would definitely say give it a try.

Yes, I'm on Arava-(Leflunomide). I take 20 mgs on Tues & Fri, and I have had no side effects from it. Good luck,

I was on Leflunomide for few years and luckily one of doctors found that my blood pressure was very high due to Leflunomide. It was stopped and my Blood Pressure is fine. I had these fancy named drugs.
