Hi. Sorry I have not been blogging for a while. I have been reading all the blogs that have been coming in. I am on ESA now after being made redundant. £67 a week, it helps to pay some bills. Just getting over a chest infection I caught at xmas. Done a bit of freelance work for my sons business, unpaid. Still waiting for my interview with the dreaded job centre. Not sure if I want to go back to work, my RA feels better staying at home apart from daytime TV. Keeping busy with my book written and reading, computer games and films. Got to go to my RA doctor in two weeks. Other wise not much to report.
Yours Beeper.

Nice to hear from you again, are you able to claim any thing else?, Im not very knowledgeable on benefits?. It seems from what you say it suits your health better, so that is positive, good luck with the book, what is the subject? x
Hi I am writing my life story, not that it has been famous, but I am doing it for any future family members. I talk to my family but found you never tell every little detail and when you are gone it is lost. So I sat down and put down every detail I can remember. You'd would be surprised how many things you have not told others. I am also trying to write a murder mystery.
Hi Beeper, leaving work was the best decision for me too, I'm now able to properly manage my various types of arthritis and take a nap as and when needed. When working I used to come home so exhausted I'd almost pass out on the sofa not even able to make myself a cuppa never mind a meal. Now my only problem is my mental health with boredom.
No sure of your circumstances but have you checked out other benefits you may be entitled to such as DLA, housing/council tax benefits?
I've added a link to a benefit calculator just in case your not claiming your full entitlement.
Hi thanks, I have applied for council tax benefit and again about to apply for DLA. Only getting low carers at the moment, keep getting turned down for mobility.
Hi Beeper
If you have not seen it already we have a booklet, 'How to claim DLA' that is a little self-help guide to filling in the forms and claiming DLA, so might be helpful if you are thinking about re-applying. It is available to download from our website: nras.org.uk/help_for_you/pu...
