I was prescribed Adalimumbad last year & it seemed to work a little bit but unfortunately I had a fall & it now doesn't seem to be doing anything. The problem is I had an appt. for a check up a short while ago but couldn't keep it because I had a stomach bug that was doing the rounds. My new appt.is months away (to my disgust) so I don't know if the fall has knocked everything out.I've asked my G.P. He doesn't think it is the fall but I'm not so sure & there is no hope of being able to speak with the specialist.I wondered if anyone had experienced the same thing.

can you not ring the secretary, and explain. They may be able to bring your appointment forward. Did your gp offer any analgesia or tests to get answers.

I’ve had a similar experience with biologics after an infection. Sometimes it takes a few weeks /months to stabilise again as most infections put me in a flare which is very long lasting. So maybe keep taking the meds and see if your inflammation settles ? I would say that the usual 12 weeks is a guide as to whether they are going to work again. Reach out to rheumy secretary or advice line and see what they think, maybe you need a short course of pred or perhaps an injection to tide you over. Hope you feel better soon.

I have an advice line number I call when I'm concerned about anything RA. Don't you have one? I also email the RA dept if unable to access by phone. The specialist nurses get back within a couple of days and are very knowledgeable they would know why, if your medication appears not to be effective?

Not sure why a fall would cause the problem , unless you stopped taking it? If so have you resumed again? It takes bit of time the meds to get back in your system I believe?

Not what you're looking for?
