Do we still have to stop abatarcept before covid shots. Curious, thinking of getting covid shot this fall?

Covid shot wait time
Hi, Not sure what your guidelines are in the USA. I am in the UK on weekly sub cut Abatacept and on the advice still of my rheumy and immunologist pause for 2 weeks after my boosters. Also pause for one week before, but that is an extra precaution as I have been very highly immune suppressed on prior Rtx and I still have hypogamma as a result of that, so I’m still told to take that extra precaution. Do you have a rheumy nurse you can ask?
Thanks for your reply. After making a covid appointment I remembered I had before & after time pauses. I called my rheumy, she happens to be on holidays. My Dr. advised me to cancel appt, ...and reschedule when rheumy returns. Right now I'm flared. I have R/A and Osteo Arth. Thanks again. 💕🥰
Hi I am Sorry to hear .. I know how that can be. 😑 Hope you are relieving that pain. Hope your rheumy is soon back. Some people don’t like to pause meds if they know they are flaring badly but knowing that I had zero antibodies to the Covid vaccines due to prior Rtx, and resulting hypogamma, I always have done that extra week before as well. It’s belt and braces I know. As others have said on other similar threads, the pause of your RA meds can help make more antibodies to the vaccine(s). It’s better if each person asks their rheumy/nurse what’s their best plan here. 🩷🥰
Everyone seems to be different. My wife must pause, I'm good straight up. And they filter her vaccinations (no influenza, no shingles, etc.) and I'm permitted to blast away. Please check with your MD for guidance.
I have never been told to stop my weekly abatecept sub cut uk based.
