Hi folk. Wondering how you are coping with having both together? with poor immunity I have previously separated them and had no problems, but am worried about rise in both illnesses in uk and so thinking I might do both together this time. Any thoughts welcome.

I’m having my Covid booster first next week then the flu one a week later. Main reason is my upper arms get very sore and heavy and I can’t do much for 3-4 days so don’t want both arms out of action same time.

I recently saw my consultant and asked about having these vaccinations and whether to pause medication etc. She advised no need to pause medication but that I should have the vaccinations one at a time. Of course she was looking at my situation, I am on MTX and COSENTYX.

I have appt Oct 31 for both. Have had both together last couple of year and both in one arm as lymph glands removed from other. Never had a problem. Arm feels a bit sore and heavy but that’s all.

Hello, I had them both together last year and had no problems - planning to do the same again this year.

I've not had any issues having them together other than the inevitable sore arms.

My appointment is midway between Cimzia injections and the advice I was given was not to alter the Cimzia but miss the methotrexate three days later. Best to check with your rheumatology team.

I have appointments for both but 10 days apart. This is just personal preference as I feel as though I don’t want to give my poor immune system too much to deal with at a time!

I've had both done together twice now and no problems but my husband had terrible issues. Had to leave the golf course in a competition as so unwell. Thats really serious.

I have immunity problems too, so I always try to leave a couple of weeks in between the two vaccines. I am a little concerned this year as there are only 5/6 days between the two. So I opted for the Flu first and the Covid second. That is because the Covid always make me feel unwell for at least a week.

The rheumy nurse told me not to have them at the same time. Maybe it's because I have just started Yuflyma, I'm not sure.

When I was young I was ACE at multitasking. Sadly less good at it now, with increasing years. Same with my body. It is no longer like a new car. For this reason I am having both the covid and flu vaccines with a 1 or 2 week gap. My thinking is I can adapt to the benefits of each , but one at a time. Having both together have been tested and found to be safe and there are advantages of just going once. Do what suits you best.

Hello Hopeful1, my Drs have stressed for me personally to get the vaccines at least 2 weeks apart. They said it's very important. I know you see commercials and hear you can get them together, but that is for a healthy individual that does not have Immunodeficiency disorders. I would err on the side of caution, we can't afford any more issues to stress our bodies. All the best to you, M

Had them both together yesterday at 9.30am. Slightly sore arms last night, had one in each arm but took paracetamol and slept all through the night with no problems. I had a chest infection earlier in the year so was keen to have them, I hope they work! RSV in 2 weeks.Good Luck.

I had both together at the weekend. I did then spend most of the weekend asleep but have been fine since.
