just a quick one this morning

My partner who works in a doctors dispensary has asked why we don’t have to pay for our Bioligic’s , but we do have to pay for antibiotics prescription?

“Biologics and biosimilars are high cost drugs. The Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for your local area will pay for biologics or biosimilars if NICE advise that you should be prescribed them, or if an IFR (Individual Funding Request) is agreed. You do not have to pay any NHS prescription charges.”

Before we RA patients receive expensive drugs like this our Rheumy has to apply to the area health authority for the funding.
