I have responded to an email request from Brett to reset my password, but chat on the RA site suggests I might have been scammed. Please can you reassure me and others that this is genuine. I am really worried about what I should do.

Contact Healthunlocked as they run the site, I’m sure there must be others caught out and they Can advise you.
Well, it's so difficult to tell isn't it? I had the same email 2 days ago. The content looks reasonable. The only thing I would question would be if the email was genuine maybe it should be from brett@... rather than notifications@... I hate all this scamming. Sympathies.
Brett has posted on the Thyroid UK site, to say it's from him. He also responded personally to a member on another site to say the same. So it seems it's OK.
I must say though, I found it odd that HU didn't notify admins who could then post info on their respective forums if there was an update.
And why were only some people having to do this? I also doubt HU staff are members of all the groups here so it could still be a scammer who has joined certain groups. I’d still be wary 🫤
That's the bit I don't get. Why only some ?
It could be that they were contacting people that hadn't changed their password for some time. They will have a data base of users and can do queries on it like 'find all the people who haven't changed their password since XX and send them an email' and then with a press of a button those people will be sent the email.
I am not saying that is exactly what happened because I don't know, but that is how databases of users can be used.
I always look at IP anddress and got caught on a Facebook one. Luckily they said cost £50 to sort out my Microsoft programme. I nearly choked laughing this is a Mac so Apple sorted free. A very nice lady from California told me what to do and secured all information. We always access Apple via direct access and they phone back.
email support@healthunlocked.com….they will know
I had the same email and dithered. I decided to see what happened on here on Sunday and then read your post today.
In the end, I've changed my password (never a bad thing) from here as opposed to using the link. However, good to know it was genuine from Brett! Great that you ascertained that 😊
It's just odd that only some of us got the email . . .
Hi all,

Our tech team highlighted that a small subset of members will be required to update their password in order to comply with the new maintenance update that is being released on Tuesday 20th August 2024.
