The graph for my red blood cells looks like the downward slope of a roller coaster since I started Rinvoq. The rheum team seemed blissfully unconcerned at my last blood test but I’m worried that if this trend continues they might take action at the next blood test and I really don’t want to come off this drug!
Does anyone here take Floradix and have you found it helps boost red blood cells? Any other suggestions gratefully received too!

Yes. I take Floradix. Keeps me just above being anaemic. I’ve used the liquid but find the tabs more convenient. In past I’ve had an iron infusion. Prescribed iron tabs mess with my insides big time! Floradix is more gentle. No effects at all.
You need to look up the normal range. No one will be concerned unless you dip below the bottom of the range. I suffer breathlessness but no one seems to think my relatively low count is anything to do with it! 🤦♀️
Thank you. I am what looks to me like scarily below the normal range but they seem unconcerned haha. I am going to buy some floradix and give that a go. Are you on a Jak by any chance?
I am but was anaemic long before diagnosis. Looking back was the first sign I think. Don’t take no for an answer. I needed the infusion to bring it up; iron tablets I was told are good for maintenance…
You are right to look at the trend and not the actual results. If you were always low, and healthy and happy, then still being low would be nothing to worry about. But the fact that you are dropping down is showing that something has changed.
I know someone in computing who visualised all his blood results data, extrapolated it, and informed his kidney consultant exactly when his kidneys would fail. His consultant said don't be so silly. And his kidneys failed exactly when he said they would.
The good news is he and his kidney consultant now work together and use this as an example of why visualising data is really important and why healthcare professionals need to listen to the data and the patient.
