As you know i saw my gp last Thursday re; my heart and not feeling very well. She said if i felt worse to go straight to A&E. Well on Monday i didn't feel very well and i had rang my rheumy nurse and she said that i didn't sound very well and my bloods showed something going on and to go down the hospital. So after our lunch i got ready to go and Bob took me down to the hospital. We got down there and booked me in and he told them that i had a heart murmur and it was making me feel poorly. Well i was given three little tickets so the receptionist could prioritise me. One was with a heart on it. Bob went home as there was a five hour wait. Well after a time i was called in to be assessed first before anything else. Then i was told to wait back in the waiting room. I was told i would be going into another room to get a ECG before anything else. So there i sat with my colouring book expecting to be called in there. Anyway instead i was called in through the A&E and upstairs to Same day emergency care dept. I sat up there for ages before i had a blood test, then a chest x-ray then a ECG. Then the dr came in and when he heard how i was he said there is a cardiologist on the ward and he was getting him in to see me. Which he duly did. A lovely man who reminded me of Leo McKern from Rumpole of the Bailey. He has said there is a trickling on one of my valves. It seems the blood is not getting through properly. He has put me on Bisopol to take one a day and he said there is a apt for me to see the cardiologist on the 13th of this month. We got home just before 8pm and the first thing i did was have a bath and wash my hair.
Now i have plenty to tell my gp on Thursday when i see her. She was lovely and was quite concerned with what she heard when she sounded my chest. So i will be able to tell her how i got on when i went down the hospital on Monday. I feel better knowing i am not imagining how i was feeling. I have been resting since Monday as because as soon as i get on my feet my breathing gets worse when i am on my feet.

Glad home I had heart murmur initially then went onto to find it a heart flow murmur but on the medication so all good. I found from starting the meds to t took about 6 weeks for my heart to calm down and for me to understand it was not a heart attack as I think this is a stress factor too which gets the heart going!
Glad to hear you’re being well looked after. Hopefully the Bisoprolol will make a difference. I was put on it as my heart rate would shoot up to 180 just taking a slow stroll. Made a great deal of difference, don’t feel as exhausted when I do activities now. Take care 🤗
Progress !! and it is a shock but like my husband with a diagnosis of heart failure it doesn't mean he is terminal just its an issue and he has had it for many years. These days there is so much to be done and you'll soon be feeling better. Look after yourself and try not to worry too much as you'll frighten Bob, and he has been a splendid chap looking after you. lol xxx
So pleased you now know "whats what" that is all we need and sometimes the NHS dont seem to be aware of that. I hope your mind is easier now- take care of yourself, gentle hugs
This is great news Sylvi, so pleased you have had the help & treatment you needed, even if he looked like Ian McKern 😂🤣!! He sounded a really nice & more importantly very knowledgeable. 13th is just around the corner so hopefully you will learn more at that appointment. Keep well & you can relax a little now knowing your getting the right treatment as it’s very frightening when our heart goes out of it’s natural rhythm.. ❤️
Thank you darling i have always said half the battle is knowing what is wrong with me. Now i am seeing my gp this morning and i hopefully will get some more info and see what she comes up with as well. xxx
Oh Sylvi, never a dull moment! But good to know that you've been taken seriously, and they and you know what's going on.Here's hoping for progress with the cardiologist on the 13th.

It's always hard for our partners as they can feel so helpless. My Bob gets very strained looking when my various ailments play up. He's been a great support with my last year new hip and recent new knee, but I could see the strain in his face when he visited me post op in hospital both times.

They were certainly on the ball for you Silvie, knowing what the problem is helps enormously. Between Rumpole, your GP and Bisopol you should start to feel better soon xx
