i had a knee replacement 3 years ago& still walking with a stick ..I have a bursa on my hip & pain is in hip & goes down thigh & knee ..wondered if it is referred pain ?

It’s quite possible to have referred pain from an inflamed bursa but as Madmusiclover points out, better to get a definitive answer and a proper diagnosis from a medic. Hope it resolves soon.

Could well be as I had a bursa following hip surgery that went down to knee and ankle. Have you been offered a steroid injection of the bursa by imaging ?

I am going to theatre in about 4 weeks to have a local anaesthetic in the hip joint to see if it is bursa or hip or back , as i have osteoarthritis in hip too & waiting for knee replacement in other knee too ! The joys of getting old 🥹

It could be from either...I've often found that the physio (or my excellent osteopath) can sort out which is which, but sometimes says 'It could be either. Let's try this'.
