cartoon of living with a chronic disease

This is a different take on living with a chronic disease that I thought made the point well, but with a positive slant.

Sadly it’s in French! But hopefully understandable? The blue blob is the disease who sticks to the girl. And the main message is that she can’t get rid of the blob, but if they work things out between then then things will be manageable.

Except it links through via Facebook, so if facebook is not your thing then ignore. Not sure I can link it directly.

I liked the stabiliser wheels on the bike - we all need those from time to time..

this is so sweet, now if only my condition could come to an agreement with me 🤞🤪

Yes, wish that it was always like that! But a positive way of making the point about life long conditions and acceptance.

this is a translation of thd author’s text for the cartoon

Because that's what life with a chronic illness is all about. It's about acceptance. Living with it. Coping. Teaming up. Understanding needs. Limits. Adjusting. Constantly. Sometimes it takes a while to get there. And then you argue, it happens, you ignore it, you refuse to deal with it, you get tired, you have a flare-up, a relapse, and eventually you start talking again. That's just the way it is. Sometimes you do everything you can to include her, and she still throws a tantrum. It happens.

My thoughts go out to all those who live with these little bugs, these little monsters, these housemates we could do without but who are there for a little while 😘
