Hello,

I have been on it for about seven months now (on and off) and have had two urinary tract infections and that is all. One necessitated coming off the rinvoq while I took antibiotics, the other I managed to get rid of without antibiotics.

My white blood count and neutrophils are low, which was why I was taken off rinvoq the first time after a few months. But I went back on it because it was so effective. I have been advised that at some point the infections may reach a point where it is better to come off but I am not there yet and given that rinvoq has been brilliant for me I think I would have to be getting sick a lot before doing so.

Yes it works great for me too, hope it continues to work and no more infections. Thanks

good morning. I’ve been on Rinvoq since April and love it BUT I’m currently in absolute agony with Shingles. It’s all over the inside of my mouth and my ear feels like an ice pick hacking in to it every 30 seconds. 111 sent me to an and e where I was very well looked after. The an and e doc consulted with both ENT (I’ve had auto immune hearing loss) and rheumatologist prior to discharging me. The an and e doc looked very apologetic when she told me that the on call rheumatologist had said that shingles were common with Rinvoq and that if it keeps happening I may have to come off it. At the moment I’m in so much pain I am just getting by minute by minute but it definitely seems like every silver lining has a cloud! Hope you manage to stay on it!

Did you get the anti- viral medicine earlier?

I have had shingles on one side of my face and head. I was miserable for a couple of weeks and had to take care of a ten month old too. No family around to help.

Hope you start feeling better soon!

Thank you so much. I think there is less pain but I am anxious about it all ☹️

You can now get the shingrix vaccine, which gives you 70 to 80% protection. It's not a live vaccine, so safe for us.

I’ve been on Rinvoq for 8 months and I have had 2 uti’s/ kidney infections and a sinus infection. I have been off it for the last 2 weeks as I have had surgery and I really notice the difference in not having it. Am hoping that I can start taking it again soon, it’s definitely been the best most effective treatment I’ve been on. Take care xx
