Had RA for 4 years - Methotrexate 25mg injection weekly. I have had both hips & knees replaced and pain is mostly under control but, I have so much difficulty in walking. I just don't seem to be able to get my legs to move without effort. I had an MRI on my back which showed nerve damage but nothing serious.
Has anyone else had this problem - is it a symptom of RA? My RA consultant just wasn't interested.

not medically qualified but just my thoughts, maybe you’ve lost muscle from when you were unable to do as much walking when your hips and knees were bad. Have you seen a physio, you can self refer, maybe they can help you?
Absolutely agree KJ…..physio could well be the answer….,it’s not a quick fix & many people give up if they can’t run a marathon after a couple of visits.
But over the years I have found if you keep at it, there is light at the end of the tunnel
I've had 3 THR's and know what you mean about stiffness and getting your legs to move. They also cut a tendon on my right side which hasn't helped - no external rotation that side. Having had THR's to reduce pain, I don't have the mobility I had before, but much less pain.
