Talk to your medical teams as there are options, like Leflunomide. But only a doctor will know if it is suitable for you.

When I was on Humira I took leflunomide with it. Speak to your rheumatology team and ask them what else might be suitable for you to try.

your rheumatologist should suggest a lot of options.I am on sulfasalazine and hydroxychloriquine.Think it’s a try and test to see if side effects are too bad too.

I take Azathyoprine and inject Abatercept. Aza is good with no side effects and been taking since 2016 with no issues. X

hi I take mxt with Benepali but am tired and lethargic with nausea for 3 days. Have tried to come off mxt but need to slowly reduce it and my rheumatology doesn’t want me to stop it as I have tried other snarfs and they don’t agree with them

You don’t say in what way methotrexate isn’t suiting you. If it is causing nausea then there are a few ways of trying to help that, such as having it injected rather than orally and you need to discuss that with your rheumatology nurse or doctor. I had to stop taking methotrexate before starting any biological due to nausea and raised liver function tests. Other possible disease modifying agents to use with humira would be Leflunomide, sulphasalazine or hydrochloroquine. When I took Humira, I had no other DMARD with it as leflunamide and sulphasalazine had been tried before starting a biological and both caused side effects. The Humira worked well on its own for a while, then stopped being effective and I was started on rituximab.

Talk to your rheumatology nurse or doctor and I am sure they will be able to help.
