Covid19 Positive : Hello everyone, The Inevitable has... - NRAS
Covid19 Positive
Good Morning to you.......I found it such a surprise when I saw the red line appearing I couldnt believe it.
I caught it when attending a hospital appointment. For me it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be and Paracetamol helped. I did have a very sore throat, itchy ears but I coped with that. I did purchase a spray to help with the sore throat. It would 8 days before I tested clear for the first time. Keep up the fluids, rest when your body tells you (and it will) and know that we are all thinking of you. S
Hello, Thank you for your message I was shocked too as I am always extra careful! I started to feel unwell on Christmas day...felt strange all day and done a test on Boxing day which showed I was positive, today I feel horrendous and it has gone straight to my chest, hopefully I will be able to sleep alot today. X
I had it way back in December 2019 before it was known what it was. I knew it wasn’t normal flu but it was pretty awful. I felt completely wiped out.
I’d say rest, rest and more rest. Eventually I discovered that peak flow was low compared to my normal, that scared me so I doubled up on my brown inhaler and I had a pulse meter that showed my oxygen levels and I used that to keep my oxygen levels up and I used to take deep breaths and hold them before exhaling again, I drank lots of plain water, I couldn’t eat - just a bit of dry toast. I took paracetamol to keep my temperature down and had a cold damp flannel for when I got too hot but basically I stayed in bed and slept most of the time. I’ve never slept so much in all my life.
My husband had covid about three months ago and he would never have known if I hadn’t made him do a lateral flow because he seemed to be coughing a lot. He’d had five covid vaccinations by that time.
Look after yourself just give in to it and rest.
I too caught covid during a hospital appointment. I have now had it twice. The first was not pleasant as I had I think most of the main symptoms, the second time was like a cold. I treated each symptom as it appeared. Lots of hot drinks (have honey in your drinks if you can, I don’t as I dislike it) it will help soothe sore throats. Keep warm, sleep as you feel the need and just be kind to yourself. Hopefully it will pass quickly.
Sorry to hear this darling, i hope you soon recover. xxxx
I had it about 2 weeks ago, I rested alot, alternated between heated blanket and stripping off !
My lips got so chapped (sounds quite unimportant but it was so uncomfortable) so vaselined them right up. Drank drank drank and had to make myself eat as I lost all sense of smell and taste (im still not back to normal and cant taste anything).
I also stopped my benepali until I felt better (which was about a week for me).
I've found it has started a flare off and I still feel quite tired but everyone is different, it could have been so much worse.
Hope you feel better soon
you are probably entitled to an anti viral dependent on what meds you're on . Paracetamol and plenty of fluids helped me x
Are you eligible for the antivirals? That made a big difference the first twice I'd COVID
I had it 3 weeks ago, just like a cold, keep drinking lots of fluid, warm ribena was my thing. I reported it in the NHS app but never heard about antivirals from them, didn't need them but I did not take methotrexate for 2 weeks. It is all around so I don't think it can be avoided anymore.
Hello, Thank you for your message, as this is my first time having it, it's much worse than a cold and I feel pretty horrendous today, unfortunately it doesn't seem like it no matter how careful we all are. I was always advised by my doctor to stop medication if you're poorly, so I won't take any medication until i'm properly recovered.
I'm not sure what the regulations are now about anti virals but certain medications and conditions qualify. I rang 111 when I got Covid and they gave me the antivirals. I'd give it a go. Don't wait too long as I believe they don't prescribe after a certain length of time.
I had it last Christmas started with a cough then flu symptoms, no energy at all, every movement was exhausting, no taste no smell, when the cough subsided a bit my friend was sleep. I didn't take my meds methotrexate and orencia so ended up with a flare. Stay hydrated and plenty rest xx
IM SORRY TO HEAR THIS. PLEASE DONT GET STRESSED MY WHOLE FAMILY TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS MONTH FIRST THING I DID WAS PANIC. BUT ONCE I CALMED DOWN I REALIZED IVE BEEN VACCINATED MINUS ONE BOOSTER. WE DID OUR QUARANTINE FOR THE 2 WEEKS WE DID TAKE PAXLOVID THO WHICH I WISH IN HINDSIGHT THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE JUST BECAUSE BY THE TIME I TOOK IT I WAS ON MY 4TH DAY AND WAS FEELING OK. I THINK I WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE WITHOUT IT BUT EITHER WAY WE ALL MADE IT THRU SAFE AND SOUND.
WE TOOK TYLENOL, DAYQUIL AND NYQUIL, LOTS OF ORANGE JUICE AND REST. I HAVE RA WHICH CONCERNED ME BUT IT WAS OK. SO JUST TRY TO STAY CALM GET REST AND YOU'LL BE FINE. ILL BE SENDING YOU HEALING THOUGHTS. FEEL BETTER SOON.
