Had a 2nd ritixumab infusion on20th October a week later I went down with a cough, now 7weeks later still coughing! Have a normal temperature, I did ask about this on here’s couple of weeks ago, advice was to contact gp, only time I got a reply was ,” get here for 8am” for open surgery, I live in a small village, where the first available bus leaves at 9.30! Oh & ritixumab not working yet!

I think that you should contact the GP surgery again and explain the problem over and over again to the receptionist until she gets fed up and does something for you! It's called the 'Yes,but....' technique, where you agree with what the person is saying but re-iterate your problem is not solved by that advice. You really do need some medical advice.

I know it’s no consolation, but Rtx often takes until the second infusion to show any positive improvement.

As you weren’t able to get to see/speak to your GP…why don,t you try to have a word with your pharmacist….who may be able to give you something for your cough.

On the bright side I have been on Rtx for 6 years & haven’t even had a cold.

thank you so much, had my 2nd infusion on 20 th October! Cought this “cold” a few days later, pretty much given up getting hold of gp! Oh also had a text message saying I needed a routine blood test ,went on the site, there were no available blood tests The options ran out in February!

I meant the second set of infusions not just the second of your first set. So that will be around April time.

But you should have the blood test now. Try speaking to your rheumy nurse …if you have one,,..she will arrange your blood tests for you.

Good luck with the Rtx…if it works for you it really is an excellent easy treatment.
