Yes indeed transplant patients are immunocompromised and even after 6 jabs are unlikely to have made the antibodies needed to protect them from Covid. I’m very immune suppressed as my RA is treated with Rituximab and in the same situation.

Until the U.K. government makes Evusheld available to give us the same level of protection that the vaccines give to other people we must be extremely careful not to get Covid. It is very serious and potentially deadly for the immunocompromised (your husband) and the immune suppressed.

To find out more look at this website: getevusheld.uk

Hi Trace, I think with your husband so vulnerable and your own RA/conditions that you both are wise. Each time you have a booster normally your immune system is nudged into an immune response and we are never quite sure with our meds and RA what that response is unless we test for antibodies, or how much response is enough, but I think for myself it’s best to get the boosters. I’ve just had my first booster as I’m a year behind on most immunocompromised people. I’m very inmunocompromised and believe in time now I’ve changed meds that I’ll get a decent immune response.

I have kidney failure and 6 jabs but did get Covid, I spoke to GP at 9.am was in local Covid unit for the antibody infusion at 6pm and never got more than a tickle cough for a day. So try not to worry even if your jabs have not worked the antibody infusion works really well.

That’s good news! But some people have had trouble getting the antiviral treatments within the required timescale so it still pays to be cautious.

Around here in Medway its antibodies infusion so I don't know about antivirals. But as far as I know because you have to go in for the infusion its done quickly as a bed is available. I know 3 other people had it and all done next day. It was done in the car park in a portacabin but it was nice and warm and parking was provided too. Very easy ! xx

And I forgot to say I don't even know how I got it last January as I had only gone out once in the week beforehand and always wore a mask so it was a mystery. My husband also got it at that time and then again just 2 months ago but I didn't get it twice. We are still careful as he has prostate cancer and going for radiotherapy but I'm sure that we have to live with a risk now as best as we can.

Yes Lola and I saw recently only 27 per cent of people trying to get the antivirals actually were prescribed them (think Sunnyweek posted this on here.)
