hi, been 3 days since tested positive on lateral flow. I'm currently on benepali and strong pain killers though the illness is bizarrely making it less painful to move. This version is supposed to be just a cold but I feel alot worse. Does anyone know about biologics. Should I stop?
got covid bad,do I stop arthritis meds.: hi, been... - NRAS
got covid bad,do I stop arthritis meds.
With the caveat that I’m not medically qualified, and you should always seek qualified advice. As I understand it, the advice for any arthritis med is if you would normally stop it for another virus or bacterial infection then you stop it for covid. I take Benepali and was told by my medical team I should stop it until I felt better. As it’s the weekend, you could always phone 111 and ask them for advice.
agree!
I’m on sulphasalazine - when I had COVID earlier in the year I carried on taking it. BUT when I subsequently mentioned it at a meds review, Inwas told I should have spoken to GP for advice 🤦♀️🤦♀️
hI,I take MTX injections and had Covid back in July was told by the virtual ward that the GP but me on for 2 weeks sending back stats every day that I had to stop injections until I had finished the antibiotics. Three weeks in all. Hope you get better very soon.
The advice is to hold off on taking your biologic or dmard. It’s to give your body more of a chance to fight the infection. If your uncertain if this applies to you, hold off till you speak to your team on Monday.
It really is a sad state of affairs in a supposedly First World country in the 21st Century ….when we have no sure source of medical information available to us isn’t it? Even back when I had the first bad reaction to a CV 19 vaccination,I had to wait hours to speak to anybody halfway qualified .
it really annoys me when it’s said that Covid is just a bit of a cold , yes it might be for some people but it wasn’t for me 😞😞
I had Covid a few months ago and was told to stop treatment till I tested negative, I hope you feel better soon
Agree with others re stopping Benepali. Hope you feel better really soon xx
I was already on rituximab when I got covid last November but while I had the virus I was pain free! Admittedly felt like I was dying but it gave my immune system something else to attack! I could walk down stairs like a normal person. Pain soon came back once I was better 😬
Wouldn’t that be good 😊 🙌
