Poor you. How frustrating, I was told that I would need a boost in Prednisilone if I was undergoing surgery, but I suppose that's to do with the dosage and the length of time you have been on steroids. patient.co.uk/doctor/Precau.... Bear up.

This is what happened to me before my fist knee replacement. Stupid doctor injected my knee 5 weeks before my op. Persuaded surgeon to still do the operation as I couldn't walk at all, op went really well with no infection, guess I was really lucky. My next knee op, 6 months later got infected and I had no steroid in my system then. Really feel for you lacey, 6 months is too long to wait..

I know metal legs, some surgeons will do the op, some won't, suppose I'm just unlucky, feel a bit better today but up and down really, they just don't understand how much planning went into getting that op, I'm a carer to my aunty, as well as my disabled son, so when they gave me the news it was cancelled , I could,nt stop crying...thanks for your reply

I can understand you feeling so upset. Gosh You have so much on your plate caring for your son and aunty, you so need that new knee. If you have any questions about the op and recovery time I would be happy to help. My hip and knee replacements have been the best ops I've had.

It was very painful for me but I am allergic to morphine and don't tolerate strong painkillers very well. The pain actually gets better the quicker you can start moving around. Physio exercises are the key to a successful outcome. I also had loads of hydrotherapy which made a massive difference. I was walking with a stick within 6 weeks. I used vitamin e cream for the scar, you can also buy bio-oil. You can hardly notice the scar once it's all healed. I still can't believe how the knee replacement gets rid of all that bone crunching pain, after 7 years I still call them my miracle knees.
