is there anyone with Ra who keeps getting covid, 1st time really poorly, not hospitalised but very scary. Next two were quite mild, kicked my flare in but just headache. This last infection, different symptoms but feeling really rough. I have had all my injection and boosters, but keep getting infected.

😠That's very frustrating for you - Hope you're not too poorly ☹️

I thought I was 'hard done by' in getting Covid twice (2020 and 2022) but four times is the absolute pits! Hope you get over this latest bout soon. Sending best wishes for full and speedy recovery.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're poorly again. Fingers crossed that the symptoms subside quickly and you can get back to normal

I'm sorry to hear that. It seems to be happening to quite a few people. More so vaccinated than unvaccinated according to reports. I hope that you feel better soon. It seems to be bouncing around a fair bit where I live.

Take care.

I had it in March this year and again a couple of weeks ago. However, I never tested negative after the first time. I had paxlovid that time but didn't bother in July. I kept testing to see if it was ok to take my medication 🙄, when I told the GP they said why am I still testing and that they don't think I'll still be infectious, so helpful! My children both had it for the first time 2 or 3 weeks ago and I had the same symptoms as them otherwise I wouldn't have known I had it again, sore throat followed by stuffed up heavy cold feeling and a high temp followed by a cough that I've still got and still testing positive 🙃

I have had it three times now very similar to you the first time very scary but not hospitalised the second and third were milder. Third time offered paxlovid but as symptoms were mild said I didn’t need them. I have had bad flares following each infection and also after each vaccination.

That must be so frustrating for you. I’ve only had it once, and that was just after I started returning a little more to normal after shielding for two years. It was annoying because I’d had 4 vaccinations by then! I hope you’re feeling better soon.

It’s strange how it affects people so differently. I haven’t caught it once (as far as I know obvs). Hope you feel better soon ☹️.

Interesting ! Neither my husband or I , or my 3 adult children have had covid . My daughter has travelled daily to Central London by public transport throughout the pandemic . My two sons also work in London and their wives and children have had covid but they have escaped.

I'm CEV ( not bad enough to have received "the letter" for antivirals ) , with RA and we live in the SW , where cases have been high and still are .

We're due to have our 6 th vaccine in the autumn. I still wear a mask when shopping and in crowded areas . Not many people do now but I'm quite comfortable doing this and I've not noticed any derogatory glances or comments . We eat in pubs , outside if possible .Otherwise , we live a fairly normal life - apart from not doing our continental trips 🤨😕😟.

I read somewhere "online" , that 15 % of people in the UK haven't had covid . Not sure how true or likely this is .

I’m off to the SW in September. I think tourists have been bringing regular infections down with them. I am also CEV, so stayed inside for 2 years, and still wear a mask in public settings (transport etc). I also carry anti-bacterial gel and use it. I have not gone abroad yet (may go to Paris in October🤔…still not decided), but I have been going to places in the UK which has been fine. I have used it as a chance to visit new places: Oban, Mull & Iona, and recently to the Isle of Man. Next year I plan to go to the West coast of Ireland.

I'm sure you're correct with tourists bringing it to the SW . Other touristy areas have suffered as well .

We stayed home too , for most of '21 and felt like "criminals" on the odd occasion we went for a drive in the countryside, scurrying home after about half an hour .

Then we missed family Christmas '20 when Boris changed his mind about how many could meet and where .

For Christmas '21 , I wasn't prepared to miss another Christmas with children and grandchildren ( we're in our 80s ) so everyone took LFTs the day before and we were all fine .

I hope we'll return to France , Spain and Portugal next year - if my husband can face the many miles we do to get there.

Scotland is a beautiful place to visit - especially the areas you've visited . GO for Paris !

Maybe the scientists will discover , one day , why some people have managed to escape covid and others have been unlucky to get it multiple times .

I guess I'm tempting fate writing this - but I'll keep my fingers crossed 🤞 ( they're pretty misshapen anyway and my toes - thanks RA 😊 )

I wouldn't be surprised if, yes, you both have caught it but neither of you have shown any symptoms!

Me too! I do worry though and still wear a mask in busy places but do avoid crowds like the plague - pardon the pun! M x

So sorry to hear you are suffering again - I hope you feel better soon.

I know a couple of people who’ve had it recently and they say they feel really rough and very tired. One lady who is better said her husband is still very poorly. I think it’s different strains now.Hope you feel better soon, it’s no fun on top of everything else.

Must be terribly constantly getting ill and testing positive for covid. As many have said we feel for you, and hope that the 4th time is the last time you are ill with this awful virus. Some people seam to test positive for even mild flu while overs in the same household who are far sicker test negative. It's fair to say the tests do give alot of false positives. And with the listed range of symptoms being so extensive now it's hard to tell what you have.

Please note I'm not saying you don't have covid. Being a genetically modified virus how it acts on some people more than others can't be compared to a normal virus.

I take it you are update with your boosters. In the UK it's 4 for now.

Are you taking a Quality vitamin D? It has be proven to help your immune system and recovery of many viruses.

There is conflicting information on how effective it is against covid, it worked wonderfully for me and my family. Regardless of being ill tests have shown that the majority of us are different in this vital vitamin, so taking it can only help.

The more we stay inside the more important it is to take it. Living in the UK it's not as if we see the sun that often at the best of times.

So people have taken to wearing masks even outside so that reduces the benifits of the sun even more.

Ouch! 4 times is ROUGH! I’m unvaccinated and have just recovered from my first time with covid. Not really got anything to say that could help other than I hope your ok and that you don’t catch it again! Xz

Am pretty sure I caught it when it was first doing the rounds when we were not allowed to be tested (unless we were dying in hospital).

Scratchy throat May last year, tried the lat flow test for first time and two lines - woops, thought that was negative! August last year family barbecue, we all tested. I had scratchy throat. Mine was positive. Only mine.

Easter this year I was very poorly, lost weight thought I was dying, couldn't move AT ALL stayed on settee all day and night staring at ceiling. Incredible pains in limbs, stomach, head, one side of neck to eye. Tested positive for 10 days. Took over a month to recover.

Had the three main jabs. Was not offered any other, no spring jabs.

My husband who has serious lung condition tested negative last August and when I tested at Easter. Perhaps he'd had it and I'd caught it from him?

Or he is not doing the lat flow tests properly?

If anyone suggests to me ever again that we must treat it like 'FLU' then I will bonk them on the nose 🤣

Fed up with hearing that.

Last time I had flu was some years ago,. This is not flu.

Fed up with hearing that we have to 'learn' to live with it 🙄 erm we have been living with it since it started, we don't have to learn anything.

Trouble is they left out the most important bit 'living with it safely, carefully' and that won't happen while people refuse to help protect other folk by not wearing a mask?
