No appetite?

Does anybody else find they do not have an appetite everyday? It started when I first started taking Methotrexate, the day after taking it, I've now been on it for 3 years and things seemed to be getting better, but over the last month or so I have noticed I do not have an appetite at all, all week, does anybody else have this? Thanks

Hello Janmary, that interesting that you also didn't have any appetite whilst on Methotrexate, I take it the symptoms ease once you came off Methotrexate? Thanks for your reply.

Oh that's a shame you don't feel great, 😒 hmmm it took me a few months of taking it for the sickness to subside. I hope you feel alot better very soon.

Yep I am not on MTX on a biologic but within a quick period of time my appetite and taste buds changed. I love cereal now so if not hungry eat a bowl of this instead as I struggle some days to eat big meals.

I think many on here have and in discussion with consultant who told me so many autoimmune people don’t eat much but put weight on partly drugs and partly sedentary life.

Find things you enjoy and it becomes your go to food.

Hello Deeb1764, it's difficult with taking medication and eating properly, 🙄 I'm finding that I just don't fancy anything (not even chocolate 😀🤷‍♂️ ) I'm now losing a little weight as I'm just really eating as much as I probably should, but try to keep my food healthy what I do eat. It's good that your eating cereal and that's good for you. I have a chat with the nurse 8n a few months I'll mention it then to them. Hope your feeling OK.

Yes I am sure you would. Sorry to be so flippant but it has a serious side too. I really want to lose some weight. I am not overweight but I have put 7lbs on since covid began and I am really feeling it in my joints, my energy and my mood. A happy medium would be great for both of us.

Honestly Shelia, I didn't think you were being flippant 😊 I think bothdes9f our situations are hard to deal with. I did put some weight on initially during covid but then it stopped. She it can be hard on your joint and mood too,my mood isn't great either 😒 yes a happy medium would be good.

RA is the disease that just keeps on giving, not in good way. Has your consultant told you if your symptoms will subside?, I hope so. I get a full stomach sometimes too, not great😒

On MTX for over six years. To be honest I'm simply not interested in food or eating at all. I know I have to eat but get little pleasure from it. Several foods have become intolerable to me like meat and coffee and only salads acceptable. Unfortunately, that made me lose weight I can't afford to lose. Skinny does not suit me. No answers from me I'm afraid

I know how you feel as that is how I am feeling now, I used to be a right foodie a right pigo at times 😀 but now I eat because I know ihave to and don't really enjoy it 😒 yep I'm losing weight too, which atm is I don't mind but I don't really want that to xarry on for too long, I just don't get what's changed. I don't really even enjoy chocolate any more. X

It's a proper pain in the pinnie isn't it? You can't even have a whinge 'cos nobody wants to hear that you can't put on weight. Aldi's millionaire's shortbread is the only thing between slim and scrawney for me

If something has changed in the last month then its definitely worth contacting your nurse sooner to discuss, especially as its been going on for a month now. (You couldn't have unknowingly had Covid could you?)

Hello Tracy, thank you for your reply, I will speak to the nurses, I think some of the symptoms of not having an appetite seems from stress in my job, as wel as the medication, I will monitor the situation till I speak to the nurse. No I know I haven't had Covid many thanks. X
