It's an odd question but I saw a nurse after following phone call for support over 3 weeks ago. Not good when you are in Alot of pain.
I'm told I have OA in my right knee. Confirmed by Xrays taken over 3 years ago.
GP prescribed steroids and pain reduced within a couple of days. So i would say the flare as due to RA not OA. Nurse says differently its OA that caused the pain.
They also said that I'm too young to have a knee replacement. I'm 62. I wasn't even asking for a knee replacement just help with the pain in my knee which had very much reduced since I took oral steroids 3 weeks previously.

Do you mean the GP nurse or your rheumy nurse? If the former, I’d give your rheumy nurse a call …after all your rheumy will be the one to decide what is causing your knee problems.
Few years ago when I had my first flare and I didn’t know what it was it was actually a rhemy dr that told me I was having a flare up and at time I’d only be confirmed with OA so I’d say yes as my specialist at time told me.
