Maybe it’s not the baricitinib after a year, you could have something else going on. Have you spoken to your doctors about it and been checked out?

Hi Minah. I’m on Baricitinib. I’ve been on it 3/4 years but not had those side effects. I agree with Kitty J you need to get those other issues checked out. Might not be related.

That is great and hope. You will keep getting benefit with it .Actually my medical history already has record of these symptoms due to with many other medicines previously used by me so bit conscious and afraid too Of stoping it and waiting for another trail of new medicine as you would know that happen to us .

You may not have to stop Minah. See what the GP and nurse say. Let us know how you get on.

I have only been on Baricitinib since February, after 2 failed biologics, and it has definitely had the desired effect on my hands. So far I haven’t had side effects. Maybe you need to have a chat with your dr.

I have been using it since a year and it gave me relief from constant pain and improved my mobility too so afraid of going through the same procedure of discontinuing the drug and wait for the new one along which really need a lot of patience to tolerance the reversed condition

Unfortunately all of our drugs have some type of side effects, it’s just finding which ones you can live with while still having a quality of life. I loved baricitinib but unfortunately it stopped working for me after my first covid vaccine.

It’s always worth doing a search on baricitinib on this site and seeing others past history with the drug.

I have had success with baricitinib but have verrucas that grow very quickly because my immune system is now flatlining! Speak to your rheumatologist about your side effects as soon as you can💐

I was taking Baricitinib for 2 years with great success and without any side effects then l quickly became very unwell and was hospitalised with sepsis caused by a perforated bowel.Apparently this is a rare side effect so was immediately taken off the drug, I would definitely report your side effects as soon as possible.

Hi

As the symptoms have appeared before the baricitinib it would be worth asking to be checked for a mild but persistent inner ear inflammation (labyrinthitis).... it won’t explain the stomach ache but the rest would fit and if the immunosuppressant starts to work then presumedly the inflammation would get worse as your body stops trying to solve the inflammation and thus you notice it with new meds once they get up to speed (I’m no doctor but that’s my thinking - right or wrong!)

All the best

Ali
